EXTINCTION RITUALS

ABOUT THE PROJECT

"Rituals of Extinction" is a multidimensional project with various areas of action. One of them is the itinerant residency that has facilitated creative laboratories and dialogues with experts both in Colombia—Guapi, Tumaco, and Bogotá—and in Japan—Shiretoko, Akanko, and Kyoto—, merging research, training, and creation into an intercultural and geographical journey.

This project is a continuous process that also involves the creation of a stage work and a video installation as part of its multiple components, as well as an environmental awareness campaign that represents a fundamental communicative strategy to promote the care and protection of the environment.

EXTINCION
RITUALS

The Itinerant Residency "Rituals of Extinction": Collective Imaginaries and Possible Futures, uses dance and audiovisual arts as tools for communication, empowerment, and social awareness. It aims to bring visibility to socio-environmental issues in different regions of Colombia and Japan, creating a space for reflection and creation around these matters. The goal is to address these topics from an intercultural and community perspective, to enhance the artistic and environmental activism processes that are being developed in each community.

ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

The environmental awareness campaign "Rituals of Extinction" aims to disseminate the videodances and environmental reflections generated in the body exchange and videodance laboratories that took place within the framework of the Itinerant Residency "Rituals of Extinction" carried out in collaboration with organizations, groups, and artistic and community collectives from the municipalities of Guapi, Tumaco, and Bogotá.

Through the environmental awareness campaign, we also seek to amplify artistic and community initiatives committed to environmental conservation with the vision of strengthening what we call the "Network of Collaborators for Environmental Awareness."
